I am what you might call a “boat aficionado”: I have collected several sailboats, motorboats, and yachts in the past ten years, ever since I made it big in the dot.com years. Because of this passion for boats, I have also accumulated a few old but functional boats in my back yard. At first, I was thinking of selling these old boats, but I eventually scrapped the idea because it seemed too much of a hassle for me and I really did not have too much free time. Recently, I accidentally came across the website of Boat Angel, a non-profit organization which facilitated boat donations. That serendipitous moment finally made me decide to donate my boat to charity.

Perhaps, what really made me excited about the idea was that Boat Angel was actively involved in projects which promoted the well being of children and gave direction to once misguided youth. I came from a not-so-well-off family, and I had experienced the harshness of reality early in my youth; that’s why I’ve always had a soft spot for kids. Not only that, Boat Angel was also able to assure me that my donation will go to the right recipients.

Now, I don’t just collect boats, I donate boats as well.
